2008 PUREBRED ARABIAN
FUTURITY
Three-Year-Old English Pleasure or Three-Year-Old
Sport Horse Under Saddle
2008 CROSSBRED FUTURITY
Three-Year-Old Fine Harness
Eligibility
Horses eligible to compete in the 2008 Futurities
will be those resulting from 2004 Futurity Eligible
breedings. All Futurity Eligible horses must be registered
with the Renai Horse Registry before competing. In the
Purebred Arabian Division, horses must also be registered
with AHA. In the Crossbred Futurity, horses must be
crossbred (i.e. registered DHH, ASB, Morgan, Hackney,
Arabian, etc. are not eligible).
Basic Rules
Each participating Renai Foundation Stallion will
have a maximum of five designated Futurity Eligible
breedings. The first breeding will be contributed to the
Futurity Trust and sold at the Renai Foundation Stallion
Services Auctions during the Renai World Cup Championship
Horse Shows. The remaining four 2004 Futurity Eligible
breedings from each stallion may be purchased privately
subject to the following conditions:
1) If the first breeding sells for the 2004
published stud fee or higher, the buyer of the first
breeding will have first right of refusal on any or all of
the remaining breedings until one half hour after the sale.
The price of each of these breedings shall be the price paid
for the first plus $250. If the stallion owner buys the
first breeding to his stallion and then exercises his first
right of refusal to buy any or all of the remaining four
breedings, and commits these breedings to his own mares, the
$250 will be waived. However, should any or all of the
breedings be resold, the $250 per breeding must be paid to
the RHR Futurity Trust.
2) If the first breeding sells for under the 2004
published stud fee, the buyer of the first breeding will
have first right of refusal on any or all of the remaining
breedings until one half hour after the sale at the price of
the published stud fee plus $250. (If the stallion owner
buys the first breeding and then exercises his first right
of refusal to buy any or all of the remaining four breedings
and commits these breedings to his own mares, the $250 will
be waived.)
3) The remaining Futurity Eligible breedings will
be sold on a first come first serve basis through the
stallion owner/manager until March 1, 2004. The price of
each of these remaining Futurity Eligible breedings shall be
the published stud fee, plus $250, or the auction price of
the first breeding, plus $250, whichever amount is
greater.
4) The $500 registration fee for the resulting
foal from the first Futurity Eligible breeding sold at
auction will be waived.
5) All Futurity Eligible breedings are
transferable, providing the appropriate paperwork is
submitted to the Renai Horse Registry for recording and
registration.
6) All Futurity Eligible breedings sold by auction
or by private treaty have limited live foal guarantees and
otherwise, are subject to the 2004 breeding contract of each
stallion.
Limited Live Foal
Guarantees
The breeder will have three consecutive breeding seasons
to get a live foal, resulting from the Futurity Eligible
breeding, after which the breeding expires, unless the
stallion becomes infertile or incapacitated. In this event,
the stallion owner may arrange a mutually suitable and
qualified stallion to substitute, or the Futurity Trust and
the original stallion owner will jointly refund their
respective amounts received.
Payment on Futurity Eligible
Breedings
Payment on the auction breeding will be cash only. The
payment on each of the remaining four Futurity Eligible
breedings will be the same as described in the individual
2004 breeding contract for Futurity Eligible breedings. The
$250 Futurity Trust amount must be included in the booking
fee and paid to the RHR.
Futurity Funding
100% of the net proceeds each year are placed into the
designated 2008 Renai Futurity Trust accounts. The net
proceeds from the sale of the first breeding, plus $250 per
Futurity Eligible breeding sold from the next four, will be
contributed into these Trusts through 2007. At the time of
the 2008 Futurities, 50% of the Crossbred Trust balance will
be paid to the top ten winners. For the Purebred Arabian
Futurity, 50% of the Trust balance will be paid to the top
ten winners in each of the classes, with the amount per
class paid pro rata, based on the participation in each
class (English Pleasure or Sport Horse Under Saddle).
The Futurity
Competition
The Futurity event will be judged in accordance with the
Renai Horse Registry rules and procedures and will be
inclusive with the 2008 Renai World Cup Championship Horse
Show. Owners of Purebred Arabian Futurity Eligible horses
may wait until closing of entries to determine which class
(English Pleasure or Sport Horse Under Saddle) to enter and
compete. No horse will be allowed to compete in both of
these classes.
Disclosure
The Renai Horse Registry reserves the right to make
changes, add additional classes and /or modify the method of
prize money contribution. Futurity procedures are subject to
change based on the best interests of Futurity participants
and the RHR.
The Renai Horse Registry will be paid a management and
promotional fee of 10% of the total money contributed to the
Futurity Trust.
LaCroix/Burrline may purchase Futurity Eligible breedings
and be entitled to all rights, but will be exempt from
